Roskruge Part 3 of 3

Roskruge Elementary and Bilingual Middle School.  Opened in 1908 as the original Tucson High School.  Photographed on 10/22/2016.
Murals are not open to the public without permission. Check in at the office: Come in the north entrance, then turn left at the top of the double stairway inside.
Entrance to the student garden.
Student garden with a mural made of water bottles stuck in the fence.
Garden tool shed. The middle hen says "Control your children, Helen". The hen on the right responds "Control your ATTITUDE".   Sounds like teachers to me.  See lower right for student artists.
In order to include that middle photo, I may have stretched the definition of a mural just a bit.

Pueblo Gardens Elementary

A long mural is across the street from Pueblo Gardens Elementary.  The school is located at 2210 E. 33rd St.  This street becomes E. Menor Stravenue at S. Wilson Ave.  The Mural is along the 2300 block of E. Menor Stravenue between the 2200 blocks of S. Wilson Ave. and S. Amigo Ave.  The artist is Porter McDonald with assistance from the Living Streets Alliance.  The Arizona Daily Star had a nice article about the project on Nov. 20.  See ADS

The first photo is the complete mural.  Clicking on the photo to enlarge it will not do it justice. Therefore, here is a link to a larger image on Flickr that you can enlarge even further and make scrollable by clicking on the Flickr photo. Pueblo Gardens FLICKR Photo
Following the complete mural are the individual panels.  They are then followed by student artwork.

Add some paint to the crosswalk.

Let's paint the sidewalk too.
(Please don't report the photographer's illegally parked car)

Add Kermit's girlfriend.

Don't forget the intersection.

And here's another intersection to paint.
As usual, clicking on any of the photos will result in a slide show of larger and sharper images.

(Note for photographers:  I could have applied Perspective Correction to view the first photo from directly in front. I do that on occasion.  If I had done so in this instance, some might think I had taken the photo from the owner's back yard.  That's trespassing and I would never do it without the owner's permission.)

Bronx Wash mural (complete), part 3 of 3

The previous two entries, plus an earlier entry (Beautiful Bronx Wash), show the great multi-part mural along the concrete wash between the two sides of Linden Street. You can see the mural from the north side of Linden.

These photos show the mural from east (left) to west (right). The previous entry showed the new part of the mural as it was being painted.

I snapped these photos on September 14.

Update (February 16, 2018): There are four new murals at the west end of this long series. The photos were taken April 17, 2017.

Murals being made, part 42: Bronx Wash addition

Our previous entry shows the finished mural at the right (west) end of the Bronx Wash, east of 4th Avenue along Linden Street. David Aber's photo shows this part of the mural in complete sunlight. Here are my two photos of the mural in progress and (like David's post, but in worse light) the finished mural. There's a note from the artist on the first mural saying “Back on Tuesday!”:

My camera says that both of my photos were taken on September 16, 2016, at 1:50 PM. They couldn't both have been taken then — as the first one shows “Back on Tuesday” — so please take a guess (if you'd like) of the dates.

Bronx Wash mural revisited, part 1 of 3

On March 14, 2011, Jerry Peek posted photos of a mural at the Bronx Wash.  See Beautiful Bronx Wash.

Sometime in 2016 an additional panel was added to the west end of the mural. The artist is Harriet Wood ("Miss Hazard").  I photographed it on Oct. 11, 2016.

The mural is located at the intersection of E. Linden St. and N. 4th Ave.
